Find the microphone icon

The microphone icon appears when the text box is empty. Open the chat. To the right of the text box (when it's empty), you'll find the microphone icon.
Hold and speak

Hold the microphone to record; slide up to lock it. Press and hold the microphone and speak. Slide up to lock hands-free recording.
Release to send

Release to send; slide left to cancel. Release the microphone (or tap "Send" if locked). The voice message goes out right away.

Your voice message is sent. To cancel it while recording, slide left. The recipient can play it back at their preferred speed.
