How to tell if someone has blocked you on Snapchat
You're sending snaps to someone but their profile has vanished? Snapchat never warns you when someone blocks you. So you can't know for 100% sure, but a few checks can help you spot the signs of a block on Snapchat. Here's how to check them, step by step.

Checking whether someone has blocked you on Snapchat, step by step
Search for the person

A profile that no longer shows up in search is a first clue. Open "Snapchat" and use the "Search" bar at the top. Type the person's username or display name. If their profile "no longer appears" when it did before, that's a first clue.
Check your conversation

A conversation that vanishes completely is another sign. Open your "conversations" (the Chat icon). If the chat with the person has "disappeared" and your old messages no longer show, it may point to a block (or a deleted account).
Look at your friends list

If the person has left your friends list, that's one more clue. Open your profile, then "My Friends". If the person is "no longer listed" even though you were friends, that's an additional clue. Cross-check all three signs to form an opinion.
Good to know
None of these signs proves a block "for sure": they can also come from a "deleted account" or a simple unfriend. But if all three add up (not found in search, conversation gone, absent from your friends), a block is very likely.
Good to know
- Snapchat sends "no notification" of a block: that's by design.
- A "deleted" account produces the same signs as a block.
- To confirm, ask a mutual friend to search for the profile: if they find it and you can't, you're probably blocked.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you know for certain that you're blocked on Snapchat?
- No. Snapchat never confirms it. You can only spot clues: profile not found, conversation gone and absence from the friends list. Together they make a block likely, but not absolutely certain.
- Does a profile disappearing necessarily mean a block?
- No. The person may have simply deleted their account or removed you as a friend. The signs look alike: it's the combination that points to a block.
- How can I confirm when I'm not sure?
- Ask a mutual friend to search for the profile. If they find it normally while you no longer can, that's the most reliable sign that you've been blocked.
